Primary School Cover Teacher
Required September 2025
Full Time (Term-time only)
Permanent
Salary: £32,000-£40,000 PA
The role
Sutton High Prep School is looking to recruit a full-time classroom practitioner to cover PPA, SLT release, planned absences and sickness cover.
You will be responsible for teaching and duties across the age range (from Nursery to Year 6), as the need arises and will need to be flexible and adaptable as every day will be different.
All lessons are fully planned and resourced, so there would be no planning or preparation, but you would be expected to deliver engaging cover lessons, and to mark any work which results from these. When not covering lessons, you would offer in-class support.
We are interested in hearing from both ECTs and experienced teachers, or those holding HLTA qualifications.
At our school, girls love to learn, show respect and behave excellently. Classes are small, pupils and staff are motivated and we have a dedicated and friendly staff team, within an all-through, all-girls school.
You will be:
• A teacher or HLTA with experiences in primary phases and knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• A highly effective practitioner who is passionate about education.
• An excellent role model for staff and pupils.
• A team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptable and flexible- every day will be different.
Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, and we reserve the right to close this vacancy early, should a suitable applicant be found.
