Teacher of Drama
Required September 2025
Part-Time (over 4 days)
Permanent
Salary £41,000 - £55,000 FTE(pro rata to part time salary)
The role
Sutton High School is seeking an engaging and passionate teacher to inspire our highly motivated girls in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 Drama lessons, and to lead on some of our programme of co-curricular Drama projects. There may also be some teaching of Drama in Year 6.
The successful candidate should have the capability to teach at least to GCSE (and ideally to A Level), creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. This is a part-time role across four days per week (or full-time if you can offer English or Dance teaching at KS3). Drama is a thriving and popular subject, and a wide range of productions, from musicals to outdoor classical productions, is performed annually.
This role would be well-suited to an experienced teacher or an ECT (and we would consider a UQT), within a supportive department and faculty, with superb ECT provision for professional development.
Teachers at Sutton High School have 20% paid non-contact time, to allow for planning and preparation. Drama teachers have an additional time allocation of an hour per week to account for co-curricular commitments outside lesson times.
At our school, girls want to learn, and care about each other’s success. Relationships with teachers are exceptional, and you can focus on teaching your subject and developing future leaders in an environment where each individual, both staff and students, is known and valued.
Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, and we reserve the right to close this vacancy early, should a suitable applicant be found.
