Teacher of English

Required September 2024

Part Time (across four days)

Salary £41,000-£52,000 FTE  per annum (actual salary will be pro rata to part time hours)

The role

Sutton High School is seeking an engaging and passionate teacher to deliver English to highly motivated girls in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. This is a part-time role (working four days per week).

The successful candidate should have the capability to teach across the secondary age range, creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. English is taught mixed ability sets (of no more than 24 pupils), with A Level English Literature a popular option for pupils.

This role would suit an experienced teacher, or an ECT, within a supportive department with superb ECT provision for professional development. At our school, girls want to learn, and you can focus on teaching your subject and enthusing them. Experienced teachers receive a generous planning allowance (20% PPA). For ECTs, additional planning time is given, and we have a comprehensive ECT mentoring programme.
